Last one today

Something was brewing inside, steeping like a strong tea. However the paper remained blank, and the pressure to write was building. It is there, I can feel it, but like a lion, it waits ready to pounce at only the precise moment. Meanwhile, the frustration builds, sometimes leaking out in mysterious ways. Crying, screaming, kicking, or just being still, these are the things that keep the monster at bay. Only the realization of a good poem, essay or novel will slay this beast within me. And the only way to come to this realization is through inspiration. So I launch this question into the vast universe, "Where are you my muse?"

Just throwing something out there, hope it doesn't sound stupid...

Still More...

Logan saw herself in the reflecting pool. There didn't appear to be any tears rolling down her cheeks. How she had mastered the art of hiding her true feelings. No one ever knew how torn apart inside she really was, all because she always appeared so upbeat and carefree. Brian Matthews had broken her heart though, not just broken it, shattered it. She feared she would never get all the pieces to fit again. Why should she, he took with him a large part. And now she wondered if she would ever be able to love another with what was left. She didn't even want to try.
Brian knew he had hurt Logan, but he had to. It was much too dangerous for her to be with him. Especially now, no matter how much he loved her. He said awful things to her, and accused her of things he knew she would never do. But it worked. She was gone, and safe from anyone who would dare try to use her to hurt him. Time was short, and if he was to make it to Greece by sunset tomorrow for the drop off, he had better fly.

More ideas

Here is another poem I wrote in the early 90's. I was a little depressed.

Star
Bright as a diamond in the sky
so many wish upon you
not knowing that their hopes and dreams
never will come true.

For star, you hold a secret.
and I'm one of the few who know.
Your light that now shines high above
is from a million years ago.

Back then, people wished on stars and
their desires granted.
For the sky was filled with power then
and each star was enchanted.

But that was very long ago
when the world believed in magic.
But the believers began to fade and the results
became quite tragic.

You go ahead and wish
upon that star like I used too,
but I've learned a wish on a burned out star
never will come true.

A few fresh ideas

Chasing dreams, finding my tomorrow
seeking the missing pieces like a
kaleidoscope of colors that
haven't yet formed a rainbow.

The footprints...
~memories left behind,
reminding us of
where we've been.
~The virgin sand lies ahead,
waiting...
