The Poem

Even before I am borne, I exist. If only in your imagination...waiting...till I am brought to life by your pen.

Random Thoughts...

I caught myself daydreaming today...once again living in our fantasy.

Do you know what's in my heart, my soul? Have you even read my poetry?

It stopped raining, so why is my head still in the clouds?

Midnight Memories

Hot breath that causes chills, a touch that burns
too short moments that stick in my memory
longing to hold for just a minute longer and freeze time in your embrace
wishing you here and not so far away
midnight memories.....

Until You

The words on the page stare back at me, cold and lifeless, just empty words on a piece of paper...
...until you.

Dear Reader,

As I turn through the pages of the past,
I see the loves that have come and gone.
And realize that I now occupy the last few pages of your life.
And I wonder, one day, many years from now when you read this.
Will I be one thats left pages far behind?

A Little Romance

A whisper in my ear, a touch to show you care, the way you greet me in the morn.
The things that make me feel so precious, from romance they are born.
I want to lose all track of time, wrapped in your embrace.
And while your sleeping softly gaze down upon your face.
And when the time comes, that we need part to deal with the mundane.
I'll think of you and you of me until we meet again.

Fallen Angel

Above the misty mountain lies,
where only noble eagles fly,
An angel with a broken wing,
who's given up on everything.
For while playing on a cloud,
she ran and stumbled on her shroud.

To the ground she began to fall,
and to heaven, she began to call.

But no one heard her muffled cry,
so on earth again, she waited to die.
An angel with a broken wing,
so very lost without her King.
~D

Metamorphasis

I felt like a grain of sand amidst all the others, lost in the crowd
Then I floated into your arms and you held me and showered me with forgiveness,
And when I emerged from the ocean of your love,
I found I was
a pearl.

Misplaced

Your words caught me off guard,
jumbled into poetic form and riddled with imagery.
The meaning was obvious.
Trying to hide behind the veil of iambic pentameter.
I saw through your fascade because you didn't know that I was a poet too.

Out of Touch

Whispers of you,
reminders of what could be.
You haunt my mind and
seduce my imagination.
Though you haven't realized,
your words evoked a passion deep within.
Now eager to feel your hot breath on my neck or
your burning touch that would set my flesh on fire.
Your pensive stare pierces my innermost thoughts
as though you can clearly read my mind.
Do you like what you see?

A couple poems

Our souls dance,
tip toeing on stars like
stepping stones as we
share midnight moments
and moonlit memories
under a shower of silvery mist.
Dawn

Poetry is...
The words that flow out of my heart,
through the veins in my arms
to my fingertips and out of my pen
to the paper where my soul lies bleeding.

D-Day Letter

I was telling a friend the other day about my grandfather's service in the Air Force. He fought in WW II, he is my hero. My grandmother kept the home fires burning while he was away and write to him frequently. I came across these letters a long time ago while helping her clean and she let me read them. One in particuliar stuck out and I asked if I could copy it. It is filled with passion and if you let it take you back, it will bring tears to your eyes as it did mine.

My own Darling (Robert),
Yes it has come. The day we have all awaited and secretly hoped that wouldn't have to come. My thoughts and prayers have been with you all day for I know that you must be in that group of eleven-thousand planes that are ready to give that egotistical little paper hanger all that is coming to him. And all of us are doing the same from here.
Today was indeed a stange day here at home. The news of the invasion reached us at an extremely early hour and there has been a continuous flow of news over the radio all day. It was strange how differently everything was than planned. It had been arranged to have whistles blow and bells ring at the moment the news of the invasion reached us, but if they did, no one seemed to know it. Instead, people worked a little harder and prayed more than they ever prayed before. I remember what you once said about going to church and I wondered whether you had prayed too. I hope you did, because I did and I'd like to think you joined me.
No one here seemed to let the news interfere with their regular routine of work. They went right ahead doing what they always do, but with a sort of new meaning to it. No one really celebrated. They all seemed that it would be better to save all that for a greater day, V-day.
It may seem strange to you to hear me talking like this. Maybe I've just grown up, really grown-up, I mean. You and I grew up fast. We didn't have much time to be happy, and young, and in love, but we're doing our little bit so that someday our kids will have time to grow up right. They won't have to hurry because they have to fight another war. It's worth what we're going through to know that by doing it right, we'll give our kids all the things we missed. Darling, I'm scared silly and I supose you are too, but I've got a faith I didn't have before. I love you very much and I feel sure that you will be home soon.I know I won't be able to get any mail from you and you may not get all I write to you, but I'm with you, always in thought.
All my love, Dorothy

Untitled Still

The fire inside my heart rages
consuming every last loving feeling
I thought I had for you.
Until all that is left is
embers and
ash.

So what will it become
and what will become of me?
Resurrected like a phoenix
from the ashes reborn or
die and leave me utterly
alone...

Wedding Dress by Derek Webb

Lyrics to Wedding Dress By:Derek Webb Current mood: indescribable Category: Music
Ok so these are the lyrics to the christian song that is on my profile on myspace(link below). I ripped this song from a friend of mine's myspace, but I liked it so much I had to find the lyrics. So here they are, pay careful attention and find the message.
God Bless!
~D

If you could love me as a wife
and for my wedding gift, your life
Should that be all I'd ever need
or is there more I'm looking for

and should I read between the lines
and look for blessings in disguise
To make me handsome, rich, and wise
Is that really what you want

Chorus:I am a whore I do confess
But I put you on just like a wedding dress and I run down the aisle
I run down the aisle
I'm a prodigal with no way home
but I put you on just like a ring of gold
and I run down the aisle to you

So could you love this bastard child
Though I dont trust you to provide
With one hand in a pot of gold
and with the other in your side

I am so easily satisfied
by the call of lovers so less wild
That I would take a little cash
Over your very flesh and blood

Because money cannot buy
a husbands jealous eye
When you have knowingly deceived his wife

I am that whore I do confess
But I put you on just like a wedding dress
and I run down the aisle
I run down the aisle
I'm a prodigal with no way home
but I put you on just like a ring of gold
and I run down the aisle to you

I*edit* I just wanted to point out in reference to money, that I have so been able to identify lately with that part of the song. It seems that people are always out to get more money, and would sell their soul to be rich. I am realizing how easy it would be to compromise my faith and beliefs these days because I am struggling right now financially. How easy it would be to toss my faith aside and do something immoral to make a quick buck, but instead I have been living on faith, and thank God, He has provided. "That which does not break you only makes you stronger."

1 Corinthians 1:25"For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength."

Last one today

Something was brewing inside, steeping like a strong tea. However the paper remained blank, and the pressure to write was building. It is there, I can feel it, but like a lion, it waits ready to pounce at only the precise moment. Meanwhile, the frustration builds, sometimes leaking out in mysterious ways. Crying, screaming, kicking, or just being still, these are the things that keep the monster at bay. Only the realization of a good poem, essay or novel will slay this beast within me. And the only way to come to this realization is through inspiration. So I launch this question into the vast universe, "Where are you my muse?"

Just throwing something out there, hope it doesn't sound stupid...

Still More...

Logan saw herself in the reflecting pool. There didn't appear to be any tears rolling down her cheeks. How she had mastered the art of hiding her true feelings. No one ever knew how torn apart inside she really was, all because she always appeared so upbeat and carefree. Brian Matthews had broken her heart though, not just broken it, shattered it. She feared she would never get all the pieces to fit again. Why should she, he took with him a large part. And now she wondered if she would ever be able to love another with what was left. She didn't even want to try.
Brian knew he had hurt Logan, but he had to. It was much too dangerous for her to be with him. Especially now, no matter how much he loved her. He said awful things to her, and accused her of things he knew she would never do. But it worked. She was gone, and safe from anyone who would dare try to use her to hurt him. Time was short, and if he was to make it to Greece by sunset tomorrow for the drop off, he had better fly.

More ideas

Here is another poem I wrote in the early 90's. I was a little depressed.

Star
Bright as a diamond in the sky
so many wish upon you
not knowing that their hopes and dreams
never will come true.

For star, you hold a secret.
and I'm one of the few who know.
Your light that now shines high above
is from a million years ago.

Back then, people wished on stars and
their desires granted.
For the sky was filled with power then
and each star was enchanted.

But that was very long ago
when the world believed in magic.
But the believers began to fade and the results
became quite tragic.

You go ahead and wish
upon that star like I used too,
but I've learned a wish on a burned out star
never will come true.

A few fresh ideas

Chasing dreams, finding my tomorrow
seeking the missing pieces like a
kaleidoscope of colors that
haven't yet formed a rainbow.

The footprints...
~memories left behind,
reminding us of
where we've been.
~The virgin sand lies ahead,
waiting...

As I see it

I left, eyes wide open
into the world so wide
I haven't looked back, nor do I care to
But I am finding everyday that I am
becoming stronger, tougher, and more free
than I ever thought I could be.

On the Shelf

She thought she was a princess, sitting on a shelf.
She didn't need the shallow whims of childhood, the schoolgirl crushes or the hardships of life.

She was above it all, above it all on her shelf.
Like a china doll to be seen and never touched;
until the fear of being broken is overwhelmed by the desire to be held.

One day she will let herself down and expose her fragile heart,
hoping if it breaks it can be repaired, only to return to her shelf of solitude.

One Word

One word, that's all it takes

to stir the emotions inside me

from you, that's all I need

so please say something
