Well, it’s that day again. The day those of us close to you dread each year. The day the bells stopped ringing, the clock stopped ticking and your beautiful heart stopped beating.
Time heals all wounds “they” say, but who are “they” anyway. The wound is always there, and every year on this hallowed day will be open and inflamed.
Like an honored athlete’s jersey, this day should be retired…to be placed in an honored spot on the wall and displayed for all to pay homage.
Oh, you will never be forgotten, far from it! As long as this sacred anniversary comes every year, the pain will be new again and you will be in the forefront of my mind.
